The Property

There are two houses on the property. The yellow one is almost 50 years old, now renovated to modern standards while the white one is newly built. Standard rooms are in the yellow house and the white house hosts the studio rooms.T
Total area is around 12000 square feet. There is 360 degree view of the surrounding mountains and jungles from top of the homestay, thus one can enjoy beautiful scenic landscapes.
Location of the homestay is on the main Almora-Ranikhet road. It is best place for people who want to avoid climbing up - down as it is next to the road. Secure parking for up to 5 vehicles is available. From here taxis and local jeeps are also available as it is on the
There is a sprawling lawn in the front where one can relax during the mornings and the evenings and it has a 10 ft x4 ftx3 ft swimming pool for kids. There is ample seating arrangements at the lawn and one can even enjoy bonfire in the evenings.
The guest shall have access to the two rooftops and can enjoy sunny afternoons or breezy evenings.
In-house help is there who can provide homely meals to the guests on a chargeable basis.
Groceries are available in the nearby shops.
Camping facilities like tents and hiking bags are also provided at reasonable cost.
A dormitory arrangement with bed is provided for drivers on chargeable basis.
Fire Extinguisher and first aid kits are there for emergency response.
All rooms have independent entry.

The Hosts

Hi ! I am a retired government employee. This house was built by my father who was born in this village. Though I have been born and brought up in the city, we used to visit here regularly and share beautiful childhood memories here. I have deep attachment to my village and in my sevice years I used to make 3-4 trips every year. Now I am retired and divide my time here in this beautiful abode as well the city.

Hi, I am an Engineer by profession. This homestay is being run by my dad and I help him with it. I love meeting and talking to new people. I keep travelling between Gurgaon and Almora frequently. I want to bring more tourism in Uttarakhand and thus creating more jobs for people here.

The House Rules

Check-in: 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Check out: 10:00AM -11:00 AM
No parties or events allowed in the premises
Separate charges for use of blowers, Separate charges for gas cylinder, utensil washing, clothes washing.
Rooms cleaned every alternate day.
Pets are allowed
Smoking is allowed
Since it is in village so guest are not allowed to party beyond 10 pm in summers and 9 pm in winters.
Washing of clothes are not allowed except undergarments. Guest who stays more than 7 days washing machine is provided, once in a week, to launder their clothes. This service is chargeable during the months of April, May and June as water scarcity is there. Nominal laundry charges depend upon size, quantity of clothes. Since water is scarce in hill area washing clothes in bath rooms are not allowed
This is a home stay and as per house rules a guest has to keep the things, after using them, in neat and clean manner . And place the things, after use, at the place where they were before
Remain polite and considerate towards your hosts and staff.
Kindly discuss with host before booking any taxi/ travel. Host can get you more information.
Kindly inform about meals atleast 2 hours prior.
Kindly utilize water preciously.
Kindly use only 1 electrical heavy load at a time ( Geyser/ Blower/ Dryer/ Microwave)
Kindly respect local customs and laws
Don't play loud music or any other activity which can create disturbance to others.
Don't consume alcohol in common areas or during daytime.
Kindly switch-off electrical appliances when not in use.
Don't Go out without letting your hosts where you are going, and when you will be back.
Don't stay out very late at night, homestay is closed post 2200 hrs.
Don't Take things from the property without asking first.

Payment & Refunds

Peak Season

For peak season 100% advance payment to be made. ( April-July)
For Peak season all deposits are non-refundable. ( April-July)

Other season

50% advance payment to be made at time of booking.
Remaining 50% to be made atleast 7 days prior to arrival date.
Guests can cancel for a full refund until 30 days before check-in
After that, 50% of total amount is deducted for all nights if cancelled upto 7 days before check-in.
100% of the amount is deducted if cancelled with fewer than 7 days before check-in.
If booked between 14 and 30 days before check-in, you have 24 hours after booking to cancel for a full refund.

In case of change in dates, the price difference to be adjusted by Customer.

How to Reach

The location can be approached from Train/Bus/Taxi.
It is 390 km from Delhi.
A road trip will take 7-8 hrs
For railways the last rail head i.e Kathgodam is 90 Km or 3 hrs journey away. From there one can hire a taxi directly to our homestay site near central School Almora.
Nearest Airport is Pantnagar.
